ABIRUN (IMBECILE) CONCLUDING PART. Before Titi and her family traveled, her paternal grandmother was living with them in their wretched apartment. Back to the day she came to school looking sad, it happened that her father won a visa lottery but he had run pillar to post to no avail for ticket fee. The ultimatum of three weeks given to him to get ticket fee remained just a week when he stormed to his mother to call her names. He called her useless mother that felt so relaxed about her child's misfortune. He threatened to commit suicide if the mother couldn't take a drastic step to ensure he was able to get the ticket fee. Back to where we stopped in Part 2. I was told that Titi and her parents arrived in the mansion her grandma built for them prior their arrival. They lived peacefully for just a week before one of Titi's siblings mysteriously screamed from his sleep and died immediately. This happened immediately after Titi's parents dreamt of grandma chasing the

ABIRUN (IMBECILE) PART 2 The school fees issue turned Titi's family and mine to family friends. I spent more time in her house than mine. Her house became my mood swing antitode. Anytime we closed from school ,we would go to her house together until my mother or driver would come to pick me in the evening. I preferred to starve or drink cassava flakes in her house to delicacies awaiting me at home. Well, my frequent visitation to their house brought about positive financial turn around to their family. A week would never pass by without my mother sending at least twenty thousands naira to her parents. One day, Titi came to school very dejected. She was not her normal self. As a challenged child I am, I could only give facial concern but couldn't ask her what the problem was. She noticed me, faked a smile and assured me everything will be okay. There was more to her sadness but I will like to reveal it in the concluding part of this story. Some weeks later, Titi, her fa

ÀYÀNMỌ́? FATE? (CONCLUDING PART) As I was emotionally carried away by the love my brother showered on my children, the seer brought me back from the land of thought with his thunderous voice warning me of the danger in backing out. My hands were shaking as I watched my brother performing ablution and helping my last child out simultaneously. He walked to the front of the mosque to call Adhan. I looked at the seer and asked if the spiritual knife would have effect on a man calling people to prayer. The seer laughed and replied, "Their God is so patient and do as He wishes. I have killed most Alfas while observing solat, prostration stage to be precise. I think their God never promise them everlasting life. I don't know what He promised them in the hereafter anyway." Hearing this, I closed my eyes and stabbed my brother repeatedly. I could hear my brother screaming in agony. I couldn't pity him because the deed has been done. I needed to face the reality of the cr

ÀYÀNMỌ́? FATE? (PART 3) Before I proceed, help me say amen to these prayers.... Anyone who copies this story without acknowledging me fully, uses it to make movie or write story book without seeking my consent, àtilọ àtibọ̀ ní pẹran ọ̀jẹ, ewé ojú omi èé nísinmi, ẹní gbódó mì èé gbádùn, such person will just be working while others will be earning the profit of his work.  As I reached where people were standing, I was told a woman wrongly accused my first child of picking her phone from her purse. I immediately knew what that could mean.  Theft and and armed robbery have become rampant in our area in recent weeks. Some weeks ago, armed robbers broke into our  Báálẹ̀'s house, carted away all his valuables, raped his two wives and shot dead his first child. Just last week, a miscreant was caught dragging phone with a pregnant woman along the street late at night. He had stabbed the woman thrice before people came to her rescue. The thief was handed over to the police while th

ÀYÀNMỌ́? FATE? (PART 2) As I said in the previous part, my brother's employment was like blessing Peter to impoverish Paul. I started experiencing  calamities upon calamities. Twice in a single month, the ships used to import my goods worth millions of dollars from US capsized. My landed properties worth billions of naira was razed by fire. One of my trusted employees absconded with 50million pounds from my company's capital. I could sight penury approaching me with full speed. I needed to take a vital step to stop evils befalling me. I couldn't afford to become a pauper. One of the greatest calamities that can happen to any human is to become poor after years of affluence. Before the evil trend, I was not the type that seek spiritual help from anyone. I believed what will be will surely be through hardwork. You can only boast to be a man when you are yet to face a great challenge that will make you run from pillar to post. I seek the help of a friend who agreed to

ÀYÀNMỌ́? FATE? (PART 1) My name is Àríkẹ́ Oge. I am the first child of my mother's two children I am never a lucky woman when it comes to marriage. I have 4 children for four different husbands. My own case is different from 'obìnrin sọ̀wà nù, óní òhun ò lórí ọkọ.' I am a very humble woman any responsible man should wish to call his woman. Well, character most time is not a determinant factor for success. Out of my four divorces, the last one was almost fatal. I was a victim of a violent husband. I spent a week in the hospital unconscious of my environment. I was in a state oblivion for good one week. Don't pity me yet, what I lack in marital bliss, God blesses me in wealth. Unless I seek the service of professional estate valuers and auditors, I can't tell you my financial worth. I have more than 50 houses and companies scattered all over the world. Oh! I have forgotten to tell you about my kid brother. Oh my world! No one could ever wish for a better

ABIRÙN (IMBECILE) PART 1 My name is Àyìndé. The wise ones call me a special child while the gullible ones call me an imbecile. My parents were blessed with me after 15 years of barrenness. Are you wondering how I could call a challenged person like me a blessing to couple that longed for child for good 15 years? Well, I am right perhaps. Just continue with my life story. I heard in story that my parents were popular in the community since their early years of marriage due to their unlimited magnanimousity and I grew up to meet them as the same freegivers. Should I start from the transformers they solely bought for the community to save them from months of darkness? Or the kids in the neighborhood they have paid their school fees when their parents were incapacitated? What of footing hospital bills of many patients among other kind gestures time would not allow me to state here? Their long years of waiting for fruit of womb was not a concern to them alone but the community at l

My day was so busy yesterday. I left home around 5am and was still out by 8pm. When I would finish every task given to me, it was already 10:30pm. My house is situated in an estate and the night guards would not allow me in. I put a call through to my friend, Shola living near to my present location. He said he was not at home but told me where to find the key to his room. He begged me to cook the food we would both eat and promised to arrive in the next 30 minutes. As I was heading to his house, I travelled down the Memory lane to remember what a wonderful friend Shola is. Shola is a friend we grew up together in the same neighborhood. We attended the same schools from primary to university. In my 3rd year in school, Shola blocked with his arm a bullet aimed at me by a cultist. Shola had an extra year in school in the course of trying to help me with a mid semester test when I was down with malaria. My arrival at Shola's door woke me up from the memory land. As I entere

AGONY OF LOVE Episode 3 I opened my eyes to the tap of my mum’s hand. I felt a bit hot and feverish, having to swallow hard before uttering a word. “Mama” “Amara, your husband has sent someone to pick you up” she said. My heart beat escalated and she touched my hand, coming instantly to touch my neck. “My God, your temperature is so high, are you sick my dear?” she asked, jumping up at once. “I am fine mama” I murmured. “You are not. You are as hot as a boiling kettle. You can’t go anywhere today. Let me get you some drugs, I will tell the guy to come for you tomorrow” she said hurriedly. I shook my head, “No mama, I would leave this place today” I said. She frowned. “You are not well Amara, let me take care of you, I know that that useless husband of yours would not do anything” she said with obvious anger. Her anger was starting to irritate me. “Whether you like it or not, I am leaving this place now. I have signed the contract of this marriage, it is high time I s

THE AGONY OF LOVE Episode-2 "Of course you won’t” his mum declared, glaring at my parents and I. I swallowed. The pain I was feeling in my chest was burning. “You will” the Senator declared and everyone turned to him. I didn’t give a damn what he said. “What are you saying dad? I am supposed to marry Precious   and I will. I love her” he said with finality. “You should have thought of your love for her before sleeping with another woman. You must face the consequences of your actions, you won’t make me lose my election because of your foolishness.” He said sternly. “Come with me” he stormed out of the sitting room. Copper and his mum followed instantly and copper Benson looked like someone going to war. Tears flowed freely and dad did not waste the opportunity to rain insults on me for bringing shame to him. Mum tried to console me but I was totally shattered. I couldn’t believe my ears and eyes. How could my life suddenly turn to a horror movie within the twinkling o

THE BLEEDING HEART Episode -2 When Mama Toke fainted, Toke’s Form teacher, Mrs Juan Precious Okonkwo quickly alerted her other colleagues who came  running out from their various classes. They all knew #Toke, and most of them were very fond of her because she was a very intelligent and respectful student. When they saw Toke crying beside her mum she was trying so hard to wake, they came close. Teachers: “what is happening here, Toke. Are you okay?” they chorused simultaneously. Toke: “my mother just fell down and she is not talking again. Help me wake her” she said with teary eyes. In a twinkle of an eye, one of the teachers ran back to her desk in the class and brought back with her a pack of sachet water that she always drank at intervals and soon, they were all sprinkling mama Toke with water. The women stirred and opened her eyes gently. Toke: “mama!” she exclaimed excitedly and hugged her mother. Mama Toke: “what happened to me? Why are you not in your class?” sh

THE AGONY OF LOVE  Episode-1 Never have I fathomed in the four corners of my little mind that I would be derailed from my goals. My eyes have always been fixed on that glorious spot. I always spied my neighbor’s television just to be able to listen the news, see beautiful people and aspire to be like them, but everything changed all of a sudden. My focus was diverted, my brain was hacked by a stronger device and I was left with only one thing to drive my every action – my emotions. Corper Benson appeared and he became the driver of my every action because he held the key to my heart………. My legs dragged sluggishly on the fanciful Abuja road as I forced myself to keep the pace my parents were setting. We have spent three days here in Abuja, doing only one thing – searching for Corper Alfred Benson. I cant believe all that is happening and waking up from this nightmare seems practically impossible. My legs throbbed and my waist seemed strained from excessive walking. Every pedestri

Her husband, had been a successful merchant when he was alive and he had built a name for himself among the local traders in that town for he was one of those men who could lend out huge sums of money for months without asking for interest. He was a tall man with broad shoulders and a husky voice that complimented his looks. People wondered how he had fallen in love with Toke’s mother who was of a small frame and average height. The combination of her father’s height and her mother’s small stature had given Toke her average frame.. Toke’s father who was a
